Professional Conduct
The College is responsible for the protection of the public interest. The Paramedics Act and Regulatory Bylaws set out our responsibilities to regulate and discipline members. Management of this responsibility is one of the most important roles that the College has. In everything we do, the College must ensure that its activities meet the duty of fairness, and the duty of due process, which include the responsibility to ensure procedural fairness and timely action.
To assist members and the general public in understanding how we carry out our responsibilities, this section sets out the role of the Professional Conduct Committee and the Discipline Committee. It gives information on how to make a complaint and lets you know what happens when a complaint is made. We describe how complaints are investigated and resolved, and how discipline decisions may be appealed. There is also a general section on frequently asked questions.
